What it is
Forma helps you train and eat, using the numbers you actually log. It asks for little and works out the rest. It is a log with a coach attached, not a feed and not a social app.
Training coach
- A session planner with 240+ lifts, each with its own illustration
- Log sets with no signal; nothing waits on a server
- Progression, a rest timer with Live Activity, plate maths, and injuries the planner trains around
Diet coach
- Calorie and protein targets that follow your training and your weigh-ins
- Food search from a built-in USDA database, barcode scan, and your own saved foods and meals
- Close the day and the weekly check adjusts your target
Either coach works alone. With both on, Forma can also point out things that link the two, such as eating too little in a heavy training week. It never forces you to turn one on to use the other.
It also tracks your 7-day average bodyweight, body composition and tape measurements, and can read your weight, body fat and lean mass from Apple Health so you do not type them twice. It only reads from Health; it never writes to it.
Private, and on your phone
- No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics.
- Your data lives on your phone. The only backup goes to your own private iCloud.
- Export everything, or delete everything, any time in Settings.
- Everything works offline, except looking up a barcode or a food on Open Food Facts.

AI is optional
Forma works fully without AI. If you want extras, you can connect an AI service you choose yourself, for example to read a meal photo or a nutrition label. It is off until you turn it on, and Forma asks for your permission before anything is sent. Forma has no AI servers of its own. Your targets and plans are worked out by ordinary calculations on your phone, never by AI, and you check every food estimate before it is saved.
Price
Forma is free for 14 days, with everything switched on and no payment details asked for. After that, Forma Core keeps it going for a small monthly or yearly price. The price is shown in the app, taken from the App Store for your country. If you stop paying, Forma becomes read-only: your history, export and backup stay available. You cancel through Apple at any time. See the support page for how.
What it is not
- Not medical advice. Forma gives information and suggestions. Targets and scores are estimates and can be wrong for you. Talk to a doctor before changing how you eat or train if you have a medical condition.
- Food data can contain errors. Check labels.
- Not on Android, and not on the web. iPhone only.
